Although, despite the helicopters that hover and circle overhead, Winston and Julia begin to question The Party, as they are drawn in closer towards conspiracy.

Yet, “Big Brother” will not tolerate any ounce of dissent, even in the mind. However,  for those with these original thoughts, they invented Room 101…

George Orwell has created a terrifying vision in which everything and everyone is a slave to an oppressive regime. Plus, this novel is perfect to learn with your students, with many new words and phrases which regularly appear in popular cultures, such as ‘Big Brother’, ‘thoughtcrime’, ‘doublethink’ and ‘Newspeak’.
